Fishtail Braid

¡Muy buenas! Hoy os traigo un tutorial sobre un peinado muy fácil de hacer, pero que es muy resultón! ^^ se trata de una trenza de espiga (fishtail braid en inglés), que podréis hacer a vuestras nenas para variar un poco de imagen a las pelucas. Que por cierto si lo intentarais me encantaría ver alguna foto!! ^_^ así que animaos y manos a la obra que es muy sencillo!!

Hi all!! Today my post is about a very simple hairstyle, but at the same time it’s very gorgeous! ^^ It’s a fishtail braid you can do on your doll’s wig in order to change their style a bit. By the way if you try it, I would love to see a picture of your braid!! ^_^ So let’s start, it’s really easy!!

Cómo hacer una trenza de espigaor how to do a fishtail braid

1. Prepara pinzas, coletas y horquillas, las necesitaremos más adelante para recoger el pelo que sobra de la peluca.

Prepare some hair clips, hairpins and hair ties, we will need them later to grab the rest of the wig’s hair.

2. Peina la peluca! x3

Brush the wig!

3. Coge sólo un mechón de pelo en uno de los lados, como en la fotografía de más arriba. Cabe decir que de este tipo de trenzas se pueden hacer de muchas formas, pero en este caso la haremos lateral ya que las pelucas para BJD y DD suelen tener los pelos gruesos para su escala y si cogiéramos toda la peluca para hacerle una trenza trasera quedaría enorme, tal que así. Si os gusta adelante, pero yo intenté hacerlo un poco más realista ^_^ más adelante veremos qué hacemos con el resto de pelo xD

Take only a little section of the hair in one of the sides, like the picture above. This kind of braids can be done in very different ways, but this time we’ll do a side fishtail braid as the BJD/DD wigs have thick hair for their scale, and if we take all the hairs to do the braid it would look really big like this. If you like that size go on, but I’ll try to make the braid look more realistic  ^_^ later we’ll see what to do with the rest of the hair xD

4. Divide el mechón en dos. Luego del extremo izquierdo por fuera coges un mechoncín y lo llevas a que forme parte del mechón de la derecha.

Divide the hair section into two. Then take a thin strand from the left and put it in the right section.

5. Luego haz lo mismo pero con el extremo derecho. Repite estos pasos hasta acabar la trenza.

Then repeat this action on the opposite site. Keep doing this till the end of the braid.

6. Es conveniente apretar la trenza de vez en cuando para que quede más compacta. O al contrario si la quieres más natural y desenfadada no la aprietes =)

You can tighten the braid if you want it to look more compact. But if you want a more natural and tousled just don’t tighten =)

7. Pon una coleta al final y con esto habremos terminado nuestra trenza de espiga! ^^

Tie off the end of the braid and here we have it! ^^

Qué hacer con el resto de la peluca or what to do with the rest of the wig…

Why is this so scary O.o

8. Una vez más aquí podemos dar rienda suelta a nuestra creatividad y con el pelo sobrante hacer alguna especie de moño, o hacer otra trenza al otro lado, o un recogido bajo, lo que se nos ocurra =) Yo opté por esconderlo para la foto xD es una opción válida cuando sólo piensas hacerle fotos en casa, ya que se puede colocar detrás del sujeto. Lo que hice fue recoger el pelo de la izquierda -donde no había trenza- para que pareciera que la trenza empieza ahí. Esto se ve mejor en las fotos de abajo, pero bueno, la cuestión es esa, recogerlo bonito por donde se ve y por detrás retirarlo tanto como se pueda ^^

Here again we can free our creativity and with the rest of the wig we can make some sort of bun hairstyle, or make another braid on the other side, or a low bun, what you want =) I chose to hide it for the picture xD it is a valid option when you just want to take pictures at home, and the hair can be placed behind the subject. I picked up the hair on the left -the side without braid- to look like the braid starts there. You can see it better in the pictures below, but well, the point is that, make it looks nice from the front and hide the rest of the hair^^

Bueno ahora que sabéis la trampa seguro que se nota el pelo en la foto de arriba 😛

Yuuko fue la primera en probar esta trenza y la verdad es que no me disgustó para nada (a la gente que me comentó las fotos en otros sitios tampoco! x3 ). Aquí podemos ver la diferencia de trenzas según la peluca: la blanca es de Miruya y es súper lisa, por eso queda como más artificial, en cambio la peliroja, de Doll M.Art, queda más natural y flexible. Todo es probar y encontrar el look que más te guste ^^

Yuuko was the first to try this braid and I really liked it (people who commented my pics on other sites too! X3). Here we can see the difference between wigs: the white one is from Miruya and it’s super smooth, so it looks more artificial, whereas the redhead, a Doll M.Art wig, is more natural and flexible. All you have to do is to try and find the look that you really like ^^
